Three o'clock at night is an easy rock piece for beginners wind band. The piece was named after
Lehtonen first started to hum the bass line one night at 3:00 A.M. The bass line can be taught
to the group by ear and it can be used as a foundation for improvisation exercises. In the middle
section there is a repeat section for free improvisation which can be repeated as many times as
needed in order to give everybody a chance to solo. The focus should not be on the right scale,
but it should inspire players to try improvisation alone or in a group!
